Breakfast Smoothie

You can whip up this deceptively simple high protein smoothie with only a few ingredients.  Loaded with calcium, fiber, and lots of other vitamins, this smoothie is the perfect way to begin your day. The apples and frozen banana slices blend together to give you the perfect amount of sweetness, while the cinnamon adds just the right amount of spice. Cottage cheese and flax seed meal provide a good amount of protein, fiber, and omega-3 fatty acids, which will help keep you going strong until lunch time. And if you want to boost the antioxidant power, throw in a handful of spinach, kale, or berries.

  • 10 raw almonds
  • 1 large apple with the skin, seeds removed
  • 1 cup frozen banana slices
  • 1 cup low fat cottage cheese
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 Tbs golden flax seed meal


  1. Place ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.
